From One Pilot to Another: Train Like It Matters — Because It Does
At Experienced Pilot Services, Inc., they stress a core belief: the best pilots are the ones who keep learning — the right way. I’ve flown long enough to know what works and what doesn’t. I’ve seen what shortcuts lead to. That’s why the four-step training process isn’t just a checklist — it’s a progression that builds real skill, judgment, and confidence. Here’s how they do it:

1. Start Prepared: Qrosscheck CBT Before I even got there they assigned me to Qrosscheck’s computer-based training, and I arrived ready. I had already walked through the systems and procedures specific to my aircraft, the King Air B200 — so we didn't waste time rehashing basics. We dove right into what really matters.

2. Talk Through the Real World: 1–2 Days in the Classroom
This is where we sat down, pilot to pilot, and talk through what actually happens out there. With the instructor, we discussed scenarios, lessons learned, and the platform-specific realities that you won’t find in the POH. I believe it's the most effective way to learn and prepare for what could happen.

3. Rehearse, Don’t React: 1–2 Days in the Simulator
In the sim, we ran through the edge cases, the failures, the unexpected situations. This is where the hands learn what the head already knows. Better to sweat in the sim than scramble in the sky.

4. Fly It for Real: In The Aircraft
Finally, we get into our airplane. This is where the training becomes real — in our cockpit, our layout, our particular quirks. We practiced the missions we usually fly. I was also impressed that the instructor was interested in learning from us as well. He had a lot of excellent questions. We both learned a lot!

So how can anyone offer “more” than that?

I don't think they can — not if they’re being honest about what works. You can stretch training a week or two and throw in more powerpoints, but if it doesn’t build good habits and sharp thinking in the cockpit, as after some point it becomes just noise.

What they offer is efficient, focused, operationally sound — built by pilots who’ve flown the hours.
